The primary goal of the building program has been to create a higher standard of student accommodation
than the old Sasana House offered.
Thanks to donations and our earlier Building Appeals, in 2003
we had two accommodation buildings at lock-up stage nine-bedroom
and seven-bedroom, each unit with showers and toilets. By November 2004, with donations and bridging
loans from supporters, we were able to have the nine-bedroom
building ready for occupation
by
meditators. By June 2005, the second block building was completed and
used for the first time.
In 2005 our appeals raised funds to install
gas-fired central heating in both the new buildings and 2006 purchased the same heating system in Sasana House. In 2007, building funds were used to make extensive improvements to the walkways and steps throughout the Centre. In 2008, we will complete steps from the carpark to the main hall and further landscaping. We will also be considering the next stage of the development of the Centre, and requesting donations to support this.
All donations to the BMIMC Building Fund are making a tax deductible. A special receipt will be provided. Simply complete
